The name of our mighty undertaking here is Big Mountain, Small World. We struck upon this idea because our last name is Kuahiwinui, literally, Big Mountain in Hawaiian. The small world part captures our curiosity about life, human experiences, and the many commonalities we’ve observed over the course of our travels.
Big Mountain(s), Mall World?
Recently, we had a funny moment where someone was reading our website address. They thought it was “big mountains, mall world”. That gave us a really good laugh. This one-off experience reinforced the importance of knowing where to place the emph-a-sis on a word and within a turn of phrase.
While we like malls well enough and will certainly share our favorite with you in depth another time, our blog and travel videos won’t focus entirely on shopping facilities.
Talking Stories, Building Bridges
Instead, we’ll talk stories with you. We’ll explore where we are and give a little perspective on how we see the place. Hopefully we’ll draw connections between how everyday concerns are in these new environments versus our previous experiences. Together, we’ll smile and we’ll laugh.
